CME credits
These credits, in Section 1 and Section 3 categories, and their equivalent for the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), are awarded by the Continuing Professional Development Office of the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ), in collaboration with the Association des spécialistes en médecine d’urgence du Québec (ASMUQ).
Each training day, whether delivered over a single day or over several sessions, is accredited for 7 hours of Section 1 continuing education credits. CPD certificates for these credits are issued once the participant has completed the course evaluation. Physicians may also claim Section 2 learning credits for each hour spent preparing for the course — no certificate is required for this declaration.
Each program is also accredited for up to 5 hours of Section 3 credits through self-assessment activities, with the equivalent recognition for the CFPC. Certificates for 1.25 credits are issued after each pretest and post-test (sent approximately 3, 6 and 12 months after the course). For medical specialists, these Section 3 credits may be claimed in your Royal College MAINPORT account under an accredited self-assessment program.
All these training days are also eligible for RAMQ continuing professional development allowances for physicians. The credits are valid for all physicians, as well as for other health professionals, including nurses, according to the specific requirements of each professional group’s continuing professional development program.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Recognized Professional Development Activity (Category A) as defined by the Collège des médecins du Québec. This activity was approved by the direction de Développement professionnel continu (DDPC) of the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec.
You may claim a maximum of 7 Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) / Recognized Professional Development Activity (Category A) hours. Participants must claim a number of hours consistent with their attendance.
